I just finished reading a book yesterday. 33 Men: Inside the Miraculous Survival and Dramatic Rescue of the Chilean Miners It was not too bad. I learned a lot of behind the scenes things that I didn't see on tv. But it might have been better if written by one of the miners.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949315742598489928.post-84567780797679024222011-04-01T12:20:28.004-05:002011-04-01T12:20:28.004-05:00I found a David Balducci which writes about living...I found a David Balducci which writes about living the the mountain of Virginia, off the grid add racism and an time gone by area. I do learn a lot about the farmers life as it used to be here and might partly still be. I see it a bit a preparation as I plan some days out visiting hirtoric framn grounds and villages where I may participate in former working wayyas. They're light, murder mystery cozies based around her baking skills and set in MN. I switch back and forth between light, fun reads and more serious reads. I do usually like memoirs too.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10372160291219360666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949315742598489928.post-34102730483788302622011-04-01T08:55:56.791-05:002011-04-01T08:55:56.791-05:00I like some memoirs. I just read a memoir of sorts, called Waiter Rant, that is sort of a blog-turned-book, and I really enjoyed it but I think it's because after working in a restaurant it was just so relatable, and the stories were pretty funny and rang uncomfortably true :)<br />I am amidst tropic of cancer but finding it hard to get momentum. It's like when I read Gertrude Stein. Why care if I ever finish it? there seems to be no plot, is that the point?Merihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08423593911232228585noreply@blogger.com
