Word(less?) Wednesday: What I Wore

Wednesday, April 27, 2011
I'm always stumbling upon fun, cute "what I wore" posts on the blogsphere.Unless we're considering L.L. Bean wool pants fashionable, my lifestyle doesn't really lend itself to "fun and cute" what I wore posts, but when I was looking over pictures from the past week, I realized last Thursday I'd actually done a pretty good job of capturing what I'd wore.

It started out pretty well. It was so warm and sunny in the house on Thursday, I actually had to put on a lightweight summery top I pulled off the Kohl's clearance rack last summer.

The delightful weather inspired Andy and I to have the season's first cookout. Of course, as soon as we got over to the campground, the sun went behind the cloud. Enter the ancient polarfleece Old Navy pullover and my North Face down vest. Although it's hard to tell, yes, I am totally rocking a brown top and a black vest in this picture.

The only issue with the polarfleece/vest combo is that they're both made out of rather "melt-worthy" materials. Since I didn't fancy melting while I tended the campfire beans, I pulled on one of Andy's wool shirts (probably Woolrich). For a further fashion statement, I made sure my handknit hat (circa X-mas 2009) masked my eyes. And let's not forget my mud-stained Canyon River jeans and those graceful waterproof hiking boots (L.L. Bean)! Cute eh? ;D

Happy Wednesday!

  3. Love it! This is the exact reason I don't do what I wore posts. Although maybe we should both start...shake it up a bit in fashionable bloggy land! ;)

  4. I like looking at all the fashion blogs too. Rarely do I dress up or even put on something other than sweats! I clean houses during the day and then I'm just at home with kids in the evening. Who wants to get all gussied up for that? I just posted some pics on the one day recently I actually attempted make-up and fixing my hair! I like the stages your outfit goes through as your day continues on!

  6. haha! i sort of know what you mean. though here in LA, the weather is always ready for something cute, my job requires a fair amount of physical labor, mostly schlepping dirty, sticky wine bottles. i wear a tee shirt and jeans every.day., because if they get covered in wine, i won't be upset! goodbye, cute dresses!

  14. I like your style ten times better than a lot of the "what I wore" styles I see. You're real! Who the heck is really that fashionable in real life anyway?! Well, I guess a lot of people are...but not me! You're more the type of fashion icon that I'd follow!

  16. That's awesome! LOL That's okay. I was a fashion major and I'm usually caught now in Jeans and tshirts. Today I'm rocking a Tinkerbell shirt, black jogging shorts, hairy legs and a ponytail. Oh yeah! :) That's what happens when you become a mom, I guess. I can't wait to start having bonfires and cookouts. Following you now!! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  17. Hi Ada,
Thanks for stopping by my blog at Mom Always Finds Out. I couldn't stop skimming your fun posts - Friendship Terminated was so funny! Looks like you are on the verge of spring (are you in Minnesota? it is really pretty wherever you are). We're still waiting for the lakes in Alaska to thaw, but a few locals have fallen through the ice lately, so it is melting. (they were OK, just dumb for walking out on the ice this late in the season!)

  19. I don't see anything unusual with your attire. That's pretty much what a cold day at my house looks like - except I'll have a hoodie UNDER a wool sweater. Very stylish! I applaud your black/brown combo. I must admit, my OCD won't let me combine that myself but I have some other "interesting" combinations that I will do. Rock on!
