On A Clear Day

On a clear day, they say you can see all the way to Mount Rainer from the top of Mt. Constitution on Orcas Island, one of four large San Juan Islands. When we went up yesterday, we didn't see quite as far.
In fact, it was down right chilly up top.

But the nearly two hour drive up to Anacortes and the 45 minute ferry ride out to Orcas Island still proved well worth our while.

We were fascinated by the massive Douglas Firs as we wound our way on trails that crisscross the mountain.

And there were some pretty amazing views a little farther down the mountain once we got out of the fog bank that shrouded the tower at the tippy top of Mt. Constitution.

Near the base of the mountain, we found some waterfalls.

Today we're taking another ferry out of the Seattle metropolis. Who knows what we'll find next.
